In this episode of The Healthy Little Moments Podcast, I had the pleasure of speaking with Ken Kaplan, the owner of Quantum Wellness. While we started our conversation with floating therapy and its incredible benefits, we quickly jumped into much deeper terrain—the inner journey of self-discovery, belief systems, and the power of slowing down. Read the highlights of our podcast episodes below or listen to the full interview on Spotify.

The Science & Benefits of Floating Therapy

If you’re new to floating therapy, imagine stepping into a private, spa-like room with a tank filled with warm water and 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt. This creates an incredibly buoyant environment where you float effortlessly, experiencing deep relaxation as external stimuli—light, sound, and even gravity—fade away.

Ken shared that floating allows the nervous system to reset, reducing stress and anxiety while promoting profound relaxation. But beyond the physical benefits, floating opens the door to something even more transformative: inner exploration. To me, the experience of floating was like a bubble bath on steroids!

What Is Inner Exploration & Why Does It Matter?

At its core, inner exploration is about self-inquiry—understanding the thoughts, beliefs, and subconscious programming that shape our daily lives. As Ken puts it, many of us seek relief from stress, but what we’re often searching for is relief from our own self-imposed limitations.

Many of the issues that weigh us down, whether stress, anxiety, or self-doubt, stem from deeply held beliefs—many of which were formed before the age of four. These beliefs shape how we see ourselves and the world around us. The challenge? Most of us aren’t even aware of them.

Breaking Free from Limiting Beliefs

Ken explained that the first step to inner exploration is slowing down. When we’re constantly moving at a fast pace—juggling work, relationships, and responsibilities—we rarely have time to reflect on the deeper drivers of our emotions and behaviors.

Floating is one tool that helps quiet the mind, allowing us to observe our thoughts without judgment. But even outside the tank, the real work of self-discovery comes from asking the right questions:

  • What do I believe about myself that may not be true?
  • How do my thoughts shape my experiences?
  • What patterns keep showing up in my life, and what do they reveal?
  • What am I holding onto that no longer serves me?

The Role of Frequency & Energy in Self-Healing

One of the most fascinating parts of our conversation was the discussion of frequency. Every thought, emotion, and belief we hold operates at a certain frequency. When we are stuck in fear, stress, or negativity, our frequency is chaotic and scattered. Conversely, when we slow down, practice mindfulness, and engage in self-exploration, we shift into a calmer, more centered state—one that allows us to process emotions and make meaningful changes.

Ken explained that when we change our inner frequency, we not only feel better, but we also attract different experiences and relationships into our lives. This shift is what allows us to break free from old cycles and step into a more empowered, fulfilling way of living.

Final Thoughts: Your Journey Starts Now

Inner exploration isn’t about achieving perfection or “fixing” yourself—it’s about becoming more aware of the thoughts and beliefs that drive your reality. Whether you choose to try floating, meditation, or another form of self-reflection, the key is to slow down and listen.

As Ken shared, one of the hardest things for people to accept is that they are already okay just as they are. What a beautiful belief I wish more people (including myself) fully embraced. The journey isn’t about becoming someone else—it’s about rediscovering who you were before the world told you who to be.

If this conversation resonated with you, I invite you to take one small step toward inner exploration today. Whether it’s trying a float session, journaling, or simply sitting in stillness for a few minutes, those little moments of awareness can lead to profound transformation. You can learn more about simply sitting still, meditating, here.
